Angela Phillips, PT
Angela Phillips, PT is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, School of Allied Health Professions, Ms. Phillips has over 35 years of experience as a consultant, health care executive, hospital administrator, educator, and clinician. Ms. Phillips is one of the nation’s leading consultants assisting acute rehabilitation units and hospitals in operating effectively under the Medicare prospective payment system (PPS) and in addressing key issues related to compliance. Ms. Phillips has extensive experience as a speaker and consultant for inpatient rehabilitation, long term acute care hospitals, outpatient therapy, and hospital based rehabilitation services including operational assessment and management, performance improvement, clinical programming, and accreditation preparation.In her role as a rehabilitation consultant, Angela Phillips brings a wide variety of expertise across the rehabilitation continuum of care. Ms Phillips is the 2006 recipient of the Texas Physical Therapy Association’s Tom Waugh Leadership Award. She has represented the American PHysical Therapy Association as the Vice President for the Secion on Health Policy and Administration and actively participate in political issues that affect the industry.
Mark McDavid, OTR, RAC-CT
Mark McDavid is an experienced leader within the field of skilled rehabilitation therapy services. He has a proven track-record of dynamically growing therapy and home health operations for both in-house and contract service companies. Mark’s knowledge and its application to business strategies has earned national recognition within professional organizations, to include conference speaking invitations, appointment to AANAC’s Expert Advisory Panel, and election as a board member-at-large for the National Association of Rehabilitation Providers and Agencies (NARA). He is a sought after source in regards to regulatory compliance, MDS, MPPR, manual medical review, functional status coding, and documentation.
As the owner of Seagrove Rehab Consulting + Education, Mark’s expertise is now available to a wider audience as he provides training and tailored consulting services to propel companies toward greater prosperity and excellent patient outcomes. Mark was most recently with Rehab Management, Inc, a Virginia-based contract therapy management company his leadership lead to its three most profitable and successful years to date in its twenty-eight year history.
Mr. McDavid is an occupational therapy graduate from the University of South Alabama who went on to complete Resident Assessment Coordinator (RAC-CT) certification from the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators (AANAC).
Angela Cox, CHC
Angela Cox is certified in health care compliance by the Compliance Certification Board, and has over 20 years in the healthcare field in such areas as outpatient therapy (private practice and rehab agency), home health, hospital-based pediatric clinic. Angela’s experience over the past 10 years has been with a rehabilitation entity providing physical, occupational and speech therapy for all types of therapy settings including; rehabilitation agencies, outpatient/inpatient hospital, physical therapists in private practice, long term care, hospice, assisted living and industrial medicine.
Over her medical career, Ms. Cox has specialized in human resources, credentialing, therapy reimbursement, and has been both a compliance officer as well as a privacy officer. She currently is Reimbursement Manager for a therapy practice in Louisiana and has been co-owner of several therapy facilities as well.
Ms. Cox is a member of the Healthcare Compliance Association and is active in maintaining certification with a focus on regulatory guidance and application for outpatient therapy providers. She is experienced in internal audits, therapy EMR selection and implementation, as well as compliance plans for small therapy practice.
